My carkit is not working even though it is plugged into the cigarette lighter jack.
Please check if your cigarette lighter adapter is connected well: if connected well, the lights of this adapter will light green. If necessary, clean the contact of the cigarette lighter jack. If the problem persists, please apply to a service center.

My carkit was working perfectly for a long time. Suddenly the sound quality is not the same anymore. What can I do?
When the sound quality is not the same anymore after some time of use, or if your mobile phone indicates “accessory not supported”, there might be some dirty contacts between the carkit and the mobile phone. Since the connection system of the mobile phone to the mr Handsfree connector is very fragile and doesn’t accept any dirt or dust, we recommend you to clean the connection points of your mobile phone and your carkit regularly. Please use a fine earstick dipped in ethyl-alcohol (use of some other liquid could damage your mobile phone).

Is it important where I place my microphone?
For optimum performance, the microphone should be located at least 40-50 cm from the drivers’ mouth. Make sure that the microphone is directed towards the driver. Never place the microphone too close to the carkit unit. Experience has shown that the best location is near the rearview mirror or to the left of the sun visor.

Why does the microphone have a button?
The microphone has a 2 positional button for adjusting its sensitivity. By pressing or unpressing the button, you can improve the sound.

Sometimes I hear a high frequency noise in the car radio.
It is possible that your car radio does not have enough RF distortions protection. Please place the carkit unit at least 20 cm from the car radio.

My carkit is connected to the car radio but does not mute it during a call.
Check the user’s manual of your car radio to make sure that it has a Mute function. If it has a Mute function, there are probably some additional settings that have to be activated in the car radio menu. Activate the necessary settings and make sure that they are done correctly.

Can I use my carkit and have sound through the car speakers?
This is only possible with the optional mr Handsfree ISO cable. Thanks to this professional built-in solution, your conversation is carried over the car speakers. This optional cable can be purchased via our online shop.

I am having a telephone conversation, but the person on the other end of the line does not hear me.
The microphone might be disconnected. Please check the connection of the microphone to the carkit. If the microphone is not disconnected, press the button of the microphone down and make sure that the Genius main unit is put correctly into the holder.

How can I find out whether the carkit Genius is compatible with my mobile phone?
Please check the corresponding list with compatible mobile phones on this website. If your mobile phone type is indicated in this list, there is a mr Handsfree connector available for your specific type of mobile phone.

I have bought a new mobile phone. Can I keep using my carkit?

What is the best procedure for connecting the connector and the mobile phone to the carkit?
To obtain the best mr Handsfree sound quality it is important to follow the following steps: Start the engine of your car --> Plug the carkit in the cigarette lighter --> Click your connector in the carkit --> Connect the connector and your mobile phone. This means that the connection of your mobile phone should always be the last step of complete installation. If the mobile phone is connected to the carkit before the carkit is powered on, the sound quality might not be perfect and you might hear a disturbing noise.

Is it important if my mobile phone is in on or off position when I connect it to my carkit?
Yes, to obtain the best functioning, we advice to have your mobile phone in ON position when you connect it to the carkit.

My mobile phone does not charge.
Please check the corresponding list with compatible mobile phones on this website. The connectors followed by * do not have a charging function, so your phone will not be charged.

Why doesn't my mobile phone answer a call automatically?
Your mobile phone will only answer a call automatically when this function is supported and activated by your mobile phone.

Why does my connector have two cords with different plugs?
One cord transmits the audio signal and needs to be plugged into the headset connection point. The other cord is used for charging the battery and needs to be plugged into the charging connection point. Please always plug in the two cords when using the carkit.
